♠ Elementary
1. Start with Beginner level activities.
2. Students cover sentences and in turn complete one sentence each aloud.
♠ Pre-intermediate & Intermediate
1. Students read one sentence aloud in turn. Focus is on pronunciation & rhythm.
2. Students cover sentences and in turn complete one sentence each aloud.
3. After one minute’s preparation, students test each other in pairs.
♠ Upper-intermediate & Advanced
1. Students retell the story using past tense and connectors:
After walking through the park, she crossed the bridge and headed towards the shopping centre.

What does she do after she walks out of the shop?
♠ Mingle sequencing activity – Cut the story into 12 squares and give one to each student. If fewer than 12, give two (consecutive) squares to higher students. The students mingle and work out the story order. Higher levels listen only, no looking at the images!
♠ Mingle activity extension – Students return to their seats and dictate their sentence. Everyone writes the complete story.
